Music has always been such a powerful part of my life. So many of my memories are tied to it—songs that instantly take me back to a moment, a season, or even a feeling I hadn’t thought about in years.
I wake up every morning with a song already playing in my head (sometimes before I’ve even had my tea!), and throughout the day, it doesn’t take much for a lyric to come to mind. Someone says something, and suddenly I’m mentally breaking into a full-on soundtrack. It’s just how I move through the world.
But more than that, music helps me feel things more deeply. It can shift my mood, help me process emotions I don’t quite have words for, and offer a new perspective when I need it most.
And because of that, it has become such an important part of my spiritual life too.
There’s something about music that reaches the heart in a different way than anything else. It helps me enter into prayer more fully, to sit with Scripture more deeply, and to walk through seasons like Lent and Holy Week with intention instead of just rushing past them.
That’s exactly why I created this Holy Week music playlist.

This is the playlist I’ll be listening to on repeat from now until Easter Sunday—a mix of songs that help me reflect on the cross, sit with the weight of Good Friday, and then slowly move toward the hope and joy of the Resurrection.
You might find that some songs hit you differently depending on the day. Some feel more fitting for the quiet of Holy Thursday, others for the heaviness of Good Friday, and others for that building sense of hope as we wait for Easter morning.
However you use it, my hope is that this playlist helps you slow down, reflect, and draw closer to God in a gentle, meaningful way this week.

As you listen, you might want to try something simple:
- Play one song and just sit quietly with it
- Let a lyric become your prayer
- Journal what stands out to you
- Or simply let the music be in the background as you go about your day, gently reminding you of the meaning of this week
There’s no “right way” to do this – just an invitation to be present.
Holy Week can sometimes feel busy and full, especially if you’re juggling everyday life alongside it all. But even small moments; like listening to a single song while making dinner or folding laundry can become meaningful pauses that bring your heart back to what this week is really about.
Is music a big part of your prayer and worship life too?
I would truly love to hear, what songs speak to your heart during Holy Week? If you have any favorites to add to this playlist, share them in the comments so we can build something beautiful together.
