This Easter Story Spinner is a fun craft project for kids and a great way to share the story of Jesus’ Passion with them. Make the spinner with them and then use it to spur conversations about some of the key elements of the Easter story.

Use this with your own kids or feel free to use it in a classroom, Sunday School, or other group settings. You may print off as many copies as you need but please, if you are sharing this with others, we would really appreciate it if you direct them to our website.

EASTER STORY SPINNER

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • Colored pencils (or crayons)
  • Paper fastener (brad)
  • Double-sided tape, a glue stick, or school glue
  • Scissors
  • Template
  • Pencil or marker for tracing the template
  • Paint(blue and white or colors of your choice)
  • Paintbrush
  • Cardstock
  • Single hole punch

INSTRUCTIONS:

Print and cut out the provided template. Trace the template onto the cardstock twice and cut out these circles.

Color the printed template with colored pencils or crayons. Tape or glue this to one of the circles of cardstock.

Paint the remaining circle of cardstock. We used a blend of blue and white paints to create the appearance of the sky. You can use whatever colors you’d like. Let this dry well.

Cut a triangle shape out of the painted cardboard large enough to be able to see the drawings on the template.

Using a single-hole punch, punch a hole in the center of each circle and attach them together with the paper fastener.

PRO TIP: Be careful when using the scissors. Adult supervision may be needed.
