Monday Moments with God is a quiet pause at the beginning of the week — a space to notice where God has been present in my life and to carry small moments of grace into the days ahead. These reflections aren’t meant to teach or explain, only to notice and to sit with what God is doing in ordinary life.

This is a new series here on Creative Catholic Mamas, and I hope that it feels like we’re sitting down together at the beginning of the week; not to figure everything out, but simply to notice where God has been faithful and to carry that awareness forward.

Monday Moments with God: Holding Onto This

For Today

I am spending time doing Lectio Divina in color. My friend Daniela teaches about this – praying with Scripture using Lectio Divina and then prayer doodling what comes up for you. It’s a beautiful, meditative experience.

Above is some of the art I have created in Daniela’s classes.

From Sunday’s Readings

What stood out for me – He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, in order that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 1:30-31

From Yesterday’s Homily

Blessed are the poor, the meek, the persecuted. These are radical words in a world that insists the opposite: blessed are the wealthy. Blessed are the forceful. Blessed are the comfortable. Do we have what it takes to be radical?

A Verse I’m Sitting With

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.

—Jeremiah 29:12-14

In Prayer This Week

Praying for peace for those who have been hurt by all that is happening in the world right now that they may be comforted by God. For wisdom for those who are doing the hurting that they may be guided to God. For strength for those standing witness that they may be God for those in need and that He will reveal the path He has planned for them.

In My Bible Study

We are studying the book of Hebrews. What stuck with me this week: Our unbelief makes us fall short of all that God has promised for us. No matter how many times this happens, the promise of His rest remains and we can enter into that rest through our faith.

God’s rest is peace. Freedom. The rest that God Himself enjoys.

Noticing God

In my grandson. When we stopped at the grocery store, he asked to buy food for the unhoused woman sitting outside. This is a common occurrence for him and I love his beautiful heart.

What I’m Learning About God

If I open my heart to Him, I see His presence in my life all the more.

A Quiet Joy

The little creations that my grandsons make always bring a smile to my face and a moment of calm to my demeanor.

God of love, meet me in the stillness of this moment. Walk with me through the week ahead, and help me to recognize Your grace in both the big and the small. Amen.

Where have you seen God’s presence in your life over the course of the last week?
